Profiles

Chris

image of Chris As well as being an experienced instructor, Chris is the chairman of Knowle Dog Training Club. A position he has held for a number of years. Along with his wife, Chris runs a boarding kennels and also breeds Gordon Setters. it is safe to say that dogs are a big part of Chris' life. He is pictured here with one of his Gordon Setters.

John

image of John John is the club's vice chairman and has been a club member for 28 years. He has been an instructor for the last 18 years. John currently has a Welsh Springer Spaniel called Nikko and a Collie called Kizzie. In his spare time John is an international man of mystery?

Ann

image of Ann Ann has been a member of the club since its formation in 1979 (30Years) and has been an instructor for 26 years "now that's what I call experiennced". As well as being our longest serving instructor she is also one of our joint club secretaries. Anne currently has a terrier named Daisy.

Pat

image of Pat Pat joined the club in 1997 to train her weimaraner, Flint and became an instructor in 2001. She is joint club secretary and also acts as co-ordinator for the Kennel Club good citizens award. Pat's current dog is a failed sniffer dog, an english springer spaniel named Vader. She is a puppy walker and lay visitor for West Mids police and a member of BIPDT. Pat also has a city and guilds in canine studies.

Joyce

image of joyce Joyce is not only an instructor but also holds the clubs purse strings as club treasurer. She has been a club member since 1992 and an instructor since 1996. Joyce does not have adog of her own at present but plays host to (I'd better whisper the next bit) six cats. Joyce insists that Dogs are much easier to train because cats are too intelligent by far.

Yvonne

Pam

image of Pam Pam has been a club member for about three years and became an instructor in October 2008. She currently has a Border Collie called George (left of photo) and a German Shepherd Dog named Isis (right of photo). Isis is a police brood bitch. Pam is interested in working trials with both of her dogs.

Graham

image of Graham Graham became a member of Knowle dog training club a few years ago and qualified as a trainer in October 2008. He has two German Shepherd Dogs named Tear and Merlin who are both regulars at the club. He is a fun loving character who enjoys a drink or two after giving the dogs a lovely long walk of course.

Heather

John

image of John John has been a club member since 1991, an instructor with the club for about ten years and he is a long serving committee member. John has owned three dogs; Buttons a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (9 years), Sandy a German Shepherd/Labrador cross (9 years) and Meg aCollie/Labrador cross (15 years). Away from the club John has been a member of the Black Bouy Cruising Club, Knowle G.U.C. since 1976 serving as secretary for seven years and treasurer for seven years.

Liz

image of Liz Liz has been a member of KDTC since 1997 and qualified as an instructor in October 2008, she is also a serving committee member. Liz owned two German Shepherd Dogs one of whom was a problem dog who she trained when she first started coming to the club. She currently has a golden retriever puppy called Monty.

Paul

image of Paul Paul has been a member of the club for 10 years and has been a trainer for about five years. He helps to organise the Kennel Club good citizens awards. Paul owns German Shepherd Dogs Carrow, Trojan, Quest (a police dog), Kelly and also homes police puppies. Paul's interests include competitive obedience and working dog trials.

Paul

image of instructor Paul with his dog Archer an Italian Spinone Paul has been a club member since 1985 and an instructor since 1991. He has owned a variety of dog breeds including Old English Sheepdogs, Labrador, Newfoundland and his (and his wife’s) current dogs an Italian Spinone and Norwegian Elkhound.. For the past number of years Paul has been the principal instructor for our very popular puppy class.

Pete

image of Pete Pete has been a member of Knowle Dog training club for about five years and has been an instructor for four of them. He currently serves on the committee and is the club behaviourist. Pete is pictured here with his border collie, pip. Away from the club Pete is a driving instructor and photographer and is responsible for many of the photographs featured on the website.

Roy

Sarah

image of instructor Sarah with her dog Oskar a standard schnauzer Sarah Lives locally and is pictured here with her standard schnauzer, Oskar. She joined the club in 1998 when her previous dog Paszko, a polish lowland sheepdog was a puppy. Sarah went on to complete the instructor training course in February 2001. Her highlights include teaching Paszko to skateboard and taking part in the KDTC display team.

Sylvia

Terry

image of Terry Terry has been attending the club as a member for about two and a half years, qualifying as atrainer in October 2008. She is pictured here with her two border collies Troy and Beau. Troy has achieved two third placements at championship shows and Beau is currently in class three.

Wynne

image of Wynne Wynne is a serving committee member who first joined the club over fifteen years ago in 1992. She became an instructor in December 1996 and since then has helped train countless dogs and owners.She has a border collie called "Olly" (how poetic) who enjoys participating in agility just like her previous dog, Sam.

Ted

image of Ted Ted is not one of our Instructors but carries out the essential role of running our bar on a Sunday, serving liquid refreshments to thirsty members. In addition he undertakes most of the DIY projects for the club. In addition to his duties with Knowle dog training club, Ted is also vice president of Knowle Cricket Club.
