Peel and crush the garlic bulb, (alternatively you can use pre prepared garlic from a jar) and put it into a blender/food processor with all of the liver. Blend the garlic and liver until smooth in consistency.
Transfer the blended liver and garlic into a mixing bowl and add the porridge oats.
Mix all of the ingredients together, well, the final consistency should be thick and heavy, not too wet - if it is, add a few more oats.
Spread the liver cake mixture into a greased baking tin to about a quarter of an inch thickness.
Cook for 15-20 minutes at gas mark 6 (200c/400f). It will be just crusty on the top, but pliable enough to break into pieces easily.
Once cooled, break into small pieces, these can then be frozen and defrosted each day to give as treats or take in your pocket on your walk or training session.
